Office Max: Elf Yourself and Scrooge Yourself

Elf Yourself was created to make the Office Max brand synonymous with the holidays. The idea was simple. Users upload their face onto a dancing elf and then send it to their friends. It was an instant viral success in 2006 with over 11 million elfamorphoses made during its five-week run and an astounding 200 hits per second at its peak.

In 2007, we gave it a fresh updated feel while keeping the simplicity that drove it to success the previous year. We added three more elves so people could upload an entire elfin' posse, and jazzed up the song with a big band performing it live.

It quadrupled the traffic it had in 2006, making it the most successful viral campaign ever - for its second year in a row.

Here’s the YouTube page to prove it:

Scrooge Yourself is Elf Yourself's black sheep sibling. It allowed users to put their head on old Mr. Scrooge while he does a sarcastic mockery of the elf dance. The song is still Jingle Bells, but the Scrooge version is dark and twisted.

Take that, Subsurvient Chicken!
