LG Optimus: 1000 Acts of Kindness
When LG released its first 3G smartphone, the Optimus, they wanted to make the apps the star of the show. But how to differentiate it from the 1001 other smartphones already on the market? Easy. We turned it into a movement. 1000 Acts of Kindness is a rally cry to create some goodness.
The LG Optimus became the fastest selling phone in LG’s history, selling over a million units in the first forty days.
We unleashed the LG Kindness Brigade on city streets to show how mobile apps can be used to help out strangers in need.
We sent the LG Optimus to charity organizations and asked them to send us footage of them using it.
And we asked users to post their good deeds on the LG Kindness wall via Facebook or Twitter.
All the little acts added up to an astounding amount of good.
